Head of OSCE Mission to Montenegro meets editors to build co-operation in media development

In a visit to the office of the daily newspaper “Pobjeda” on 15 November 2011, the Head of the OSCE Mission, Šarunas Adomavičius, discussed issues on the state of the media in Montenegro and the prospects for the privatization of ''Pobjeda'' with the newspaper's Editor, Srđan Kusovac, Chief Executive Lav Lajović and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Miodrag Ivanović.

In a visit to the office of the daily newspaper “Pobjeda” on 15 November 2011, the Head of the OSCE Mission, Šarunas Adomavičius, discussed issues on the state of the media in Montenegro and the prospects for the privatization of ''Pobjeda'' with the newspaper's Editor, Srđan Kusovac, Chief Executive Lav Lajović and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Miodrag Ivanović.

The meeting was one in a series with the editors of Montenegro’s print media. Topics discussed included the overall media situation in the country and the region, the future perspectives of the newspaper and the importance of media self-regulation. .

In recent weeks Adomavičius also met with the Editor-in-Chief of ''Vijesti'', Mihailo Jovović, the Editor-in-Chief of ''DAN'', Mladen Milutinović and the Executive Director of the weekly magazine ''Monitor'', Milka Tadić-Mijović.

The meetings are being held as part of the OSCE's Mission's activities to  assist the reform and modernization process in the media and to strengthen journalism in accordance with professional standards.
