Developing a draft Youth Action Plan for 2018 was the focus of a workshop that was hosted by  the Directorate for Youth of the Montenegrin Ministry of Sports and  supported by the OSCE Mission to Montenegro on 16-17 November 2017 in Petrovac.

The National Strategy for Youth (2017-2021) covers six areas: access to the labour market and employment, access to quality education, promoting active citizenship, health, culture and the legal and institutional framework.

Based on these priorities, during the workshop, 30 participants from the youth civil sector, the ministries and other relevant bodies working with youth developed an action plan  that should be implemented in 2018, with the commitment of all relevant stakeholders.

“The OSCE Mission recognizes the important role that youth have in contributing to the constructive development of the country. This workshop represents a concrete opportunity to further strengthen the implementation of youth policy in Montenegro,” said Lia Magnaguagno, Democratization Programme Manager at the OSCE Mission.

The final Youth Action Plan for 2018 will be submitted to the Government to be adopted and implemented as part of the overall National Strategy for Youth for next year.
