The OSCE Mission to Montenegro, together with the OSCE Mission to Skopje, organized a first working meeting between the institutions of Montenegro and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in charge of drafting a protocol on co-operation between the two countries in the fight against human trafficking.  The meeting was held from 30 October to 1 November 2017 in Skopje.

The meeting was attended by a Montenegrin delegation led by the head of the National Office and the National Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings of Montenegro, Zoran Ulama, and a local delegation led by the National Co-ordinator and State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Magdalena Nestorovska.

Participants worked on harmonizing the draft of the protocol, which aims to strengthen the two countries’ co-operation on such issues as identification, reporting, referral and voluntary return of victims and potential victims of trafficking.

Montenegro has signed similar protocols with the Republic of Albania and Kosovo, and a similar agreement is planned with the Republic of Serbia.
